Critical Analysis and Literature Reviews
One of the most difficult skills for students to learn seems to be understanding how to write a thematic literature review. The purpose of thematic writing is to use a narrative that is based on critical analysis of a wide range of disparate sources and perspective in an engaging and persuasive fashion.
Too many students students seem to consider that a literature review should be a sequential description of what each source is about with very little critical analysis. As a result their writing tends towards the descriptive.
This is an outstanding example of deeply researched thematic critical analysis and literature review.
