It’s That Time Again…

Well, it’s that time again. We are at the start of another academic year and, as usual, the summer has gone by way too fast. It doesn’t seem to matter how well prepared we try to be, there is always something that leaves us scrambling at the last minute. This year it is my desire to teach some of my modules using Windows 8 as the development platform so that I can introduce some of the concepts involved in developing Windows Store applications. Our technicians have done a brilliant job creating a dual-boot image for our labs (we couldn’t possibly test all of the applications we use on Windows 8, so we have kept most of them on Windows 7).

Of course, there are always things that trip us up, usually those things that require admin rights. We are working through those at the moment. More to follow soon…
