Scope:

Cloud resources are very large energy consumers and environmentally damaging. Massive datacentres consume large amounts of power, most likely derived from fossil fuel combustion sources. The enormous growth of the Cloud computing technology forces the transition of the energy consumption from micro-level to macro-level. There is a real possibility that Cloud datacentres may become the leading environmental polluters in the near future.

There are strong needs for improving energy efficiency of Cloud computing to make Cloud Computing more sustainable and environmentally friendly. This workshop will provide a forum to discuss fundamental issues on research and development of next-generation Green Cloud Computing as well as new challenges in modelling and simulation of novel service-oriented architectures. The relevant topics include, but not limited to:

  • Energy-efficient Cloud Computing
  • Green Big Data
  • Green Service-Oriented Computing
  • Green Internet of Things
  • Energy-aware task scheduling
  • Key enabling technologies for Green Computing
  • Sustainable Design and Technologies
  • Internet-based Virtual Computing
  • Industrial Case Study

Paper Submission:

Authors are encouraged to submit high-quality, original work that has neither appeared in, nor is under consideration by, other conferences and journals.

The length of the papers should not exceed 6 pages (IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced), including figures and references, using 10 fonts, and number each page. All papers will be peer reviewed and the comments will be provided to the authors. The accepted papers will be published in the main proceedings of IEEE/ACM UCC 2014 by the IEEE Computer Society Press.

The accepted papers will be published in the main conference proceedings by the IEEE Computer Society Press and indexed by EI. At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register the paper.
